Fulfillment

There once was a boy who chased a destiny,
with no particular dream set in his sights.
He rode the confidence in himself and never
tried to own his way or the people around him.
He gave all to everyone and asked nothing in return.
Slowly the ways of the world crept into his mind,
failures turned his insides upside down and challenged
him at every turn.  The world called to him and introduced
him to its ways.  Others surrounding him took and took
until he had nothing.  When he drastically reached for help,
he was alone in a world that promised so much but was so empty.
Left alone, staring at a blank wall, he did not see his name.
The walls cry out and beg people to admire them and listen to their
stories.  But for so many their stories are not told.  For so many
the anguish builds as their dreams unfold and denature.  Until....
they realize that their dreams are not made for walls. Their stories
are being told through their heart, the only medium that could put
into words the dreams that give them reason to be alive. Why do we
waste our time chasing the approval of others? Now the boy is a man
and his eyes begin to open. He begins to see through his own glasses
the world from where he came. Suddenly the empty world dissolves
with the walls of accomplishments. For his world contains no walls
or boundaries or awards. There is nothing that he can achieve that
would change his heart or his world.  He has found peace in himself
and no one else can build him up or break him down.  His story is
told and the select few who know his truth are able to listen.
Can you hear him?
